It's Okay for Those Obama Kids, But Not Yours

For some reason that I do not understand, Michelle Obama has been given the authority to determine what my children would eat in their school lunches.  If I send a lunch that the school disapproves of, they will even give my child one of their lunches, charge me for it and send a chiding note home with my child.
I like to pack things that my children will eat, I am not one for wasting food.  I understand the basic food groups, I know about vitamins, fats, and proteins.  I get it.
What I don't get is having someone like Michelle Obama trying to tell me how many calories my child should have so that they come home starving.  How can they think and learn if they are still hungry?  Meanwhile- the Yeti and B.O. send their daughters to a very exclusive school- Sidwell Friends School.  It is where the rich and powerful educate their children, away from the hoi polloi.
The yeti would have our children eating only 850 calories at lunch.  850 calories for growing children, many of whom get their best meal while at school.  These children are hungry.  But now, thanks to her, they are hungrier.
Here is an actual menu from the fancy schmancy private school that the Obama children attend.  This was served to them on May 29,2014:

Snack: Apples and Cheese
Local Cantaloupe, Coconut, and Lime Soup
Asparagus & Israeli Couscous Salad
Cheese Quesadillas
Sautéed Zucchini & Squash with Fresh Herbs
Brown Rice
Bananas

MS/US

Chilled Cantaloupe & Fresh Mint Soup
Sidwell Chop Salad
Jicama, Mango and Cabbage Slaw
All Natural Chicken Curry
Indian Curry and Lentils
Steamed Broccoli
Basmati Rice
Sliced Watermelon
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Does it seem like it might be more than 850 calories to you?  Yeah, me too.

LS

Snack: Locally Baked Muffins
Mixed Greens with Avocado & Grapefruit Salad
Housemade Chicken Fingers
Breaded Eggplant w/ Marinara
Steamed Fresh Vegetables
Organic Sweet Potato Fries
Nectarines

MS/US

Spring Vegetable Soup
Classic Caesar Salad
Deviled Egg Salad
All Natural Meatball Subs
Spinach Ricotta Phyllo Bake
Roasted Eggplant, Zucchini and Tomato
Bananas
This is just more of the imperialism from B.O. and family.  It's good enough for our children to be hungry after lunch, but not theirs.  Think about it, you'll thank me later.

The Real Tragedy Isn't the Gun Violence

Another mentally unbalanced person has killed people.  You'll be hearing renewed cries from all of the regulars.  Obama will call for more gun control. Mothers Against Every Thing will show pictures of innocent victims.  More hypocrites from Hollywood who mistake their ability to memorize words in order and repeat them back as anything more than a parlor trick will have loads to say.  They will all say the same thing.  Guns are awful, get rid of guns.  They will say this from the safety of the guns that protect them and their loved ones.  They will say this from the safety of their gated communities, their armed guards, and their highly reinforced protective detail.  I am certain that even the yeti will take a break from telling me what to feed my children will have an opinion on guns, while safely protecting her children at home and at school with an arsenal.
But the tragedy isn't the guns.  The tragedy is the mental illness that these people are walking around with, untreated.  The crazy person who killed all those people in Colorado had slipped the cheese from his cracker a long time before he killed all of those people in the movie theater.  Why didn't the people close to him do something?
The mentally ill man who shot and stabbed those people the other day was no different.  He was making and posting videos online.  I tried to watch one.  It gave me the willies.  Didn't anyone in his family watch one?  Weren't they paying any attention to him?  I'm not a doctor by any means, but I can spot crazy when it is dripping off of the screen.  Can't you?  Couldn't they?
The man who shot Gabrielle Giffords was in desperate need of help.  Why wasn't he getting it?  Perhaps if he had gotten the help he needed before he shot Ms. Giffords- she and her husband wouldn't feel the need to try and take my guns away from me now.
Mental illness is a growing problem in the world.  I don't know if it's because people are doing a worse job of raising their children, or if we as a society are just going to hell.  But the problem isn't the firearm.  If anything, the firearm in the hand of a non crazy person is the solution.
When the crazy person at Virginia Tech tried to gun down everyone in sight, it didn't work.  Do you know why?  Because in Virginia, many of those potential victims were armed.  The msm won't include that little nugget, but it was people with concealed carry permits and lawful weapons that stopped the carnage from being as bad as it could have been.
Better mental health screening is part of the answer to the growing problem of crazy people and their armed rampages. Responsible armed citizens is the other part of the answer.  Think about it.  You'll thank me later.

Thank God The White House Has Cable

It would seem that Obama had no idea that there are veterans who are dying while they wait for health care.  The guy who always looks like he has to poop-Jay Carney- told me so.  B.O. had zero information that there were secret lists of veterans who were waiting for medical care. Medical care that was promised to them in return for their service. He had no idea that people were dying, no idea that people were waiting on lists to be treated. He had no idea.
It's kind of hard to buy the scenario that this guy is the smartest one in the room, isn't it?  Because if he is the smartest guy, God help the rest of us. Or better yet, just exactly how small is this room he is master of?  Obama was informed about the problems at the VA hospitals back in 2008.  He didn't care then, he doesn't care now.  If it were the site of his NCAA brackets, well.......then he might care. But don't bet the farm, it's not as if he would ever be eligible to be a veteran anyway.  They drug test, don't they?
So now we have even more people that are dead because B.O. isn't good at this job.  He surrounds himself with people who aren't good at their jobs, either, but the msm doesn't seem to care that much-so hey- no big deal right?
We have veterans who were willing to sacrifice their lives for our country.  They were shot at, blown up, and in some cases, tortured.  Now, the US government can't even be bothered to help them out with their medical problems?  What does that say about the current administration?
The idea that Obama-remember, we were told he's the smartest guy in the room- had no idea that the veterans hospitals were letting this happen. He had no idea that terrorists might be active on the anniversary of September 11th.  He had no idea that four people would be murdered on his watch. Again.  And he has no idea who did it, or if they will ever be brought to justice.  He just can't be bothered with the details, after all.  There is a golf game somewhere.
So now that we have this moron who apparently cannot find his butt with both hand and a flashlight denying knowledge about another problem that we have.  Ask yourself what he is doing with his time, what is important to him.  Because it sure isn't the United States of America, that's for sure.  Think about it, you'll thank me later.

Twitter Isn't Foreign Policy

I don't tweet. I am sure that somewhere I have a twitter account, but then again, I have more of an attention span then the average house cat.  I don't need twitter.  I am quite capable of grasping and retaining information that has more than 140 characters in it.  Really, I can.
The idea of the Obama's reacting to the horrific news of hundreds of girls being kidnapped by the religion of peace and being forced into sex trades at the age of 13 with a sad duck face and a piece of paper is fitting.  After all, it took a court order- and foi act from Judicial Watch to find out that the biggest concern Obama had after Benghazi happened was making sure that none of the blood got on his reelection shoes.  It would seem that quite a bit of time and effort was spent crafting the tone and talking points that Susan Rice used to lie when she blamed everything on that youtube video.
I am starting to see a glimmer of hope.  That glimmer looks vaguely like Trey Gowdy.  If anyone can find out what happened, it will be the delightfully outspoken Congressman and former prosecutor.  He doesn't seem to suffer fools gladly, and Mr. Obama had better hope that he has some kind of loyal fire wall around him.
If this Benghazi investigation starts turning up facts-and we all know that it will-Obama will be in even more trouble than he is now.  Even the media blackout on CBS,NBC, and ABC won't help him.
If there weren't anything to find, why would the democrats be throwing such an unprofessional hissy fit?  First they were going to boycott the hearings.  When that didn't get the desired results, they demanded an equal number of seats on the committee.  As the wonderful Trey Gowdy pointed out, elections have consequences.  Even stolen ones.
So now we have the media and a few chosen politicos taking their pot shots.  Since watergate is their be all, end all of political scandal- one would think that they would be very interested in this.  One would be wrong.  Since 90% of the media that would give an answer admitted to liberal leanings in there politics-which way do you think they are pulling in this?  They seem to be all for the truth when the scandal may tarnish a sitting President if there is an R beside his name, but let that President be one of them, and watch them circle the wagons, boy.  Even when he is caught bugging their phones, they don't care.  It's Ike Turner syndrome.
There shouldn't be hashtags in foreign policy.  There shouldn't be sad faces in it either.  How about if we have a firm, unyielding, fair one that leaves the United States in better shape?  What a crazy thought, isn't it?
I would like to see a president that is on our side for a change, and I would like to see that really soon.  While I don't relish the thought of the crazy uncle we have in the veep position right now, I do believe that there will be a lot of lawyers in Obama's circle of friends very soon.  When that happens, we won't have to worry about which laws he chooses to enforce. Or which laws he decides are okay with him.  All of the laws will be enforced, all of the time.  Think about it.  You'll thank me later.

Leave Your Hyphen at the Border

I'm an American.  That is to say, a citizen of the United States of American.  My father's parents had bits of everything, as did my mother's.  There was a lot of Native American, some Scotch, some Irish.  Who knows what else, because I am an American.
I am not a "native" (so I guess I won't run for the Senate in Massachusetts, huh?) Irish, African, Scottish, Chinese, Mexican, or any other persuasion.  I am an American.  If you fly a tower into our buildings, I will pray for your destruction.
I don't think we need a million different varieties.  I love margaritas as much as anyone on the Fifth of May, but the holiday for our Republic is the Fourth of July, thankyouverymuch.  I also appreciate that on March 17th everyone is Irish-unless of course you are feeling protective of the 3% who are homosexual and can't march in St. Patrick's Day parades.  Then you are just a politically correct idiot.
There are those who celebrate out differences and that is not a bad thing.  But the time comes when you have to either assimilate-that is to say become one of us-or you need to stay where you are.
Dearborn, Michigan take note.
Southwestern border states should be paying attention as well.  Recently a group of illegals who had been brought to the United States as small illegal alien children and had been sent home were at the border, demanding entry into the United States.  Leave your hyphen at the border, and come on in.  If you can assimilate, come on in.  If you are self supporting, come on in.
Did you know that immigrants to the country of Mexico are never eligible for public assistance?  They cannot own property, and they are never given all of the rights of the native born?  Seems like an idea.  Insurance calls that reciprocity.  What ever one states rule is on something, the other state agrees to it.  The United States needs to have a reciprocity policy in place for other countries when it comes to immigration.  If you have skills, come on.  I don't mean domestic help, or landscaping skills, either.
There was a time when we only allowed those with self sufficient skill and ability to come here and stay.  We need to get back to that.  Think about it, you'll thank me later.

Why Is Chelsea Clinton Having a Baby When Her Dad Keeps Calling it a 'Fetus'?

I am happy for Chelsea Clinton.  The next few sentences are going to sound catty but if you know me, then you won't be surprised. I have this theory about ugly people marrying ugly people. It makes me happy. I am only irritated when I see some stone cold gorgeous, saliva evaporating hunk of flesh walking along with what looks to be a monkey taught to walk upright. But, maybe that is just me.
Anyway, Chelsea Clinton found someone who was okay by her weird family and decided to stick around and procreated. Yay for her.  I am glad that they can afford the orthodontia that will clearly be needed.
Ahem.  But why would thew Clintons and the msm refer to this bundle of joy as a baby and yet any other in utero as a fetus?  What is the double standard here?  Is it because this one is wanted?  Does that make the difference to them?  I am trying to find out, I really am.  Because now we have these idiots who are advocating for post birth abortion, and I believe that is murder.  You can look it up.  The same as 'partial birth abortion' is murder, it is too.
So, again, never mind that when President George W. Bush became a grandfather the msm greeted it with crickets.  I guess it's only news when ugly political families have babies.   Look, my claws.  I will be the first to admit that I have no overwhelming interest in this.  I just get tired of the double standard.
Example one:  George W. Bush is so stupid hyuck, hyuck, hyuck.
Counterpoint:  Obama cannot even pronounce Corpsman but he is still the smartest guy in the room.
The list goes on and on.  Slick willie was so busy tapping the pudgy help that he couldn't be bothered taking Bin Laden when he was offered on a silver platter.   The end result? September 11, 2001.  Thanks alot.  Hope Monica was worth it.
I don't seem to understand the way that world is tilting these days.  My children couldn't pray if they went to public school, which is one of the many reasons that they don't- but it is okay for muslims to force schools not to offer pork because it offends their religious beliefs??? How does that make sense?
And for that matter, why does Michelle Obama have any say what so ever in anything? She hasn't been hired by anyone to do anything.  All she has to do is sit there, and try not to wrinkle her dumb nose and roll her stupid eyes.  You know, pretend to be a lady.  Instead, she has children starving half to death by the time they get home and a hungry child doesn't think well.
How about if she concentrate on getting herself to her next multimillion dollar vacation (that we will pay for) and leave everyone's children alone?
So there you have it.  My ranting is over for now.  Think about what I've said.  You'll thank me later.

Why Did Obama Threaten the Senior Citizens First?

I believe that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat the elderly.  It is not uncommon to see abusers hurting their parents as well as hurting their children.  It's a vicious cycle, one that is hard to break.  Luckily, we have the chance to break that cycle in less than 9 months.
Do you remember all of the sequester hype?  How those puny little cuts were going to be the end of civilization as we knew it?  Those tiny cuts that were B.O.'s idea, by the way, gave the D.C. area such fits.  When the budget wasn't agreed upon and the sequester started taking it's minuscule effect, the first thing that the doofus in charge did was start hurting the elderly.
He threatened them with cuts to their medicare.  He threatened them with cuts to their social security.  He threatened them with denied access to the parks and monuments on Federal property.  Ironically, he spent money to keep them out of open air parks that would ordinarily not have a staff anyway.
That's right, he spent tens of thousands of dollars to barricade pavilions that cost nothing to keep open.  The only people hurt were the senior citizens who had traveled to see them.  In a bout of wonderful civil disobedience, those senior citizens went around the blockades and took advantage of their memorials and parks.
So why does he hate senior citizens so much?
Why does he hate veterans?  Watch him when he walks past the fine soldiers who secure the walkway for him.  He barely acknowledges them and he salutes like he throws a baseball.  Poorly.  The people standing outside the transport would take a bullet for his worthless hide.  The very least that he could do is be respectful to them. The very least.
But back to the cuts that B.O. foisted on our grand parents, do you think he would do that if he had any respect for anyone besides himself?  He is so busy patting his own back, he cannot be bothered with anything else.  For that matter, he can't even spell respect. Trust me on this, I have seen the video.
So when his back is to the ball, who are the first victims he looks for?  The elderly. What a man.
His second victim is always always always the military.  After using a poop stick and stirring the pot to establish his muslim brotherhood in formerly stable countries, he wants to shrink our military to its smallest levels in fifty years.  Yeah, that's a good idea.
Military personnel have a hard enough job without having to do it with substandard equipment and not enough members to get the job done right.  Perhaps if B.O. had served in the military he might understand this.  Of course, if he had our nations's best interests at heart, he wouldn't have done most of the things he's done so far.  Think about it.  You'll thank me later.

Another Reason Not to Shop at Walmart

I have to take maintenance medicine and I hate it.  I despise having to be chained to a pill bottle and knowing that whatever else I am doing, I will be taking a pill between this time and this one. I know it improves my quality of life.  I know that if I didn't take it, I could have serious, perhaps even life threatening consequences.  The scariest day of my life, I woke up from a medically induced coma to see my mother and my father peering down at me.  I had a tube in every opening and a couple in places that weren't open to start with.  So there I am, cold room, that infernal beeps and wheezes going off all around me and I opened my eyes and saw my parents.  They were looking down at me and Momma was trying not to cry.  They were both smiling at me, and the scariest part for me was that they were touching shoulders and didn't seem to care. My first thought, I am not exaggerating, was 'oh my Goodness, I must be dying.'
Well, I didn't die and as far as I know, they never got that close to each other without carping about it again.  But my point is that I have to take medicine for these seizures again, and the one that I take is expensive.  Mortgage payment expensive.  And since I have had to switch insurances (thanks Obamacare!!) there was a lapse and then there has been some question about what is and what isn't covered.
If I have to pay $142 each time I get this filled, I don't really feel as though I have coverage, ifyouknowwhatImean.
So having given them two days to fill the script and timing everything almost to the minute as far as when my other prescription will be gone, I called Walmart to make sure it was filled.  'People Skills' Penny answered the phone.
me: Hi my name is Milissa and my birthday is blah blah blah, is my prescription ready?
PSP: um, what was the name again?
me: Milissa, before you ask, here's my birthdate.
PSP: we don't have that filled.
me: why not, it was called in two days ago.
PSP: It's a really really expensive prescription and we didn't want to fill it before we knew you were going to be able to pay for it.
By this time, I have a bump in the back of my head where the back of it tried to blow out.
me:While I appreciate your concern over my financial well being, I am going to be needing that today.
PSP: oh- well we'll need at least two days to get this in stock.
Me: THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU ORDER IT WHEN IT WAS CALLED IN??????
PSP: so did you want me to order that now?

At this point I hung up and called 1.800.walmart.  I explained what had happened, and what was going to happen if I didn't get the medicine.  She put me on hold and got someone from their higher ups to on the line.  This person was clueless.  She politely pointed out that I could go to another pharmacy.  I told her that in this tiny town there is only one pharmacy still open at that time, and I had called them already.  They didn't have it in stock.  She suggested that I go to the next large town about 26 miles away and get it from a pharmacy there.  I asked her if I started walking now, would I get there by morning.
Walmart:Oh you don't drive?
Me: No, that's why I take this medicine, huh?
Walmart: Have someone take you?
Me:Who would you have me ask at the last minute? I need to plan things out a couple of days in advance, what with not being able to drive and all.
Walmart: You could take a bus.
Me: I live in a town with seven stoplights.  Do you think we have public transportation?
Walmart: I am trying to help. Isn't there anyone who can drive you? No one at all?
Me: Not at the last minute. Again, had I known that I was giving my prescription to Forrest Gump, I would have made other arrangements.
Walmart:There is no need to be rude.
Me: Ma'am, this isn't rude. I'll be there in a minute. Rude was your employee. Why didn't someone call me if there was a question about the cost? Why didn't someone ask me if I was aware of the cost? Why didn't someone call my doctor if there was a question?
Walmart:We'll me looking into that, I promise.
Me: Like you'll be getting my medicine, right?
At this point, I just hung up the phone, I was angry and starting to fight the urge to drop an f-bomb somewhere.
So think about where you want to spend your money.  There has to be a small pharmacy that would love to have your business.  Develop a relationship with them.  Avoid Walmart at all costs.  You'll thank me later.

Why Does Anyone Care Who Stacy Keibler Marries?

I was wasting some time, gathering information this morning online.  I do not work in my store on Sundays if I can avoid it at all, and I usually don't pay any attention to the news or any of the things going on in the world, except reading my Sunday paper.
So on Monday mornings, I get my self situated, and in between customers and talking to my Mom, I skim the internet to see if I missed anything important.  I usually don't, Mom is pretty good about keeping me in the loop if something horrible is happening.
So I came across the name Stacy Keibler.  The first thing I thought of (couldn't help it) was wondering if they starting giving those elves names, and then realizing that she has probably heard that more times than I have had my name miss-spelled.  It would seem that she used to date someone famous.
whoopity-do.
Are we that starved for entertainment news that we now care what the ex-girlfriend of a celebrity is doing?  I can't believe that we are, but then when you tool down to the comments section- a guilty pleasure, sue me- there are all of those people and their opinions.  Wow.
Much like those who buy tabloids and take them for truth- there are some people who seem to have a vested interest in celebrities' lives.
Aren't there enough problems in the world right now?  Or is it escapism?  Perhaps people get so would up in the lives of the famous as an escape hatch, who knows?
Lent is going on as I write this, and Father Dave spoke a wonderful sermon about the things to give up during Lent.  He suggested removing something from your life that would make you a better person.  What a wonderful idea.
I am going to start with "celebrity" gossip.  Even D-listers like the aforementioned Mrs. Keibler.  I already swore off any breathless updates on Brad Pitt and his baby buying adventures.  I don't care what store they close down to shop in private, I don't want to know about it anymore.
Think about what you put in your brain, and try to ween yourself from the junk.  You'll thank me later.

Yes, Congressman Moran, You are Very Over Paid.

Recently, a retiring democratic congressman was brave, stupid enough to say what he thought.  In his mind, 174,000 dollars a year isn't enough to do the arduous job of sitting in committee meetings, having lunches, meeting with constituents, having press conferences, and adjourning for four weeks of Christmas/Easter/Summer/ you name it break.
They worked for 126 days in 2013.  Yes. You read that correctly. For every day those poor souls spent in air conditioned or heated comfort, they only had two days to recover. Only two days!  How in the world are they supposed to manage on these scraps?  Is there no decency left in the world?
He went on to whine that they were only going to be able to attract the very wealthy and that no one would want to stay there for very long on those slave wages.  He also bemoaned the expense of housing, maintaining at least two residences, because Washington DC  is so very expensive, how are they supposed to live decently, he cried?  I guess he missed the point.
It isn't supposed to be a career, sir.  You aren't supposed to be there for decades.  In fact, your little pity party should be the preamble to every single movement for term limits.  You may well be the poster child for the very thing.  How about this, since you clearly cannot afford the things you say you need to live well, and of course, you only want to serve your fellow man.
We build giant military bases for our brave servicemen and women.  We keep them safe.  We have armed guards, patrol units, and fences.  Granted, the housing is adequate, but not luxurious.  Of course, it beats living in a box on a corner.  So why don't we build a couple of these housing bases and put our Congressmen and women and our Senators in them?  They can be guarded, the same as our other bases would be. We could have them built in about six months and the jobs would be a wonderful thing, especially since obamacare has killed the economy even more than his ineptitude and mismanagement has.
They could break ground in less than two months if they really wanted to.  They could be all moved in by November, just in time for the new elections.  It would be wonderful and a huge money saver for all involved.  It wouldn't be any more dangerous for them than it is for our brave military.  We keep them all grouped together, and I know there isn't a politician alive-outside of b.o. and California stupid enough to imply that they are more important than our military.
Think about it.  You'll thank me later.
